Using the GPS as the only navigational tool is not a natural thing to
me. I like to have a second chance. But as a companion in the Baltic sea
it's very helpful. It's easy to loose orientation when navigating in an
archipelago and it's fun to see afterwards where you actually was. You
may even be able to go to the same places again.

So I'm not going to give up. I'll rather use some of the good advice
from my fellow paddlers to keep the electronics alive.

http://www.sydstevns.dk/kajak/Loggen/Klintemaala2003/default.htm shows a
gps-trace from a 3 days trip along the swedish coastline in the
Misterhult reservation about 30 km north of Oskarshamn. It's a natural
reservation worth visiting. We didn't make many miles each day but we
enjoyed the nature and the wildlife. Sorry, the report is in danish.
