[Paddlewise] VHF radios: What is everyone using & opinions?

Good radio. Very submersible. Just give it some protection in surf (as in no
direct pressure). West Marine has a nice non-waterproof case for basic
protection that is not cumbersome and remains pliable in a pocket, etc.

As far as not being cheap, what's your life worth man! And, how can you say
you are part of the water-travelling community if you can't stay in touch?
As for weather reports, ditto the previous. Do yourself a favour, order one
and adjust your spending plan on other budgetary items.
