Hi Folks- I am getting ready to visit to Lake Powell for a paddling trip with some friends, and am looking for any suggestions on "must see" areas. I would be especially interested in hearing from anyone who's been there in the last year or two, since the water levels are now lower than they've been in 40 years, when Glen Canyon was being flooded. We went last year and found that many recommended camping spots were located up 80' cliffs! Last year we went part way up the Escalante arm, which was terrific, but good pullouts were few and far between, and often the ends of the side canyons were a real mud pit, where the receding water has exposed 40 years worth of sediment deposits. If anyone has paddled there recently, I would appreciate any tips/reports. Thanks, Sarah *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
