A paddling friend with whom I do a lot of trips bought an NRS long sleeved fuzzy rubber top a year ago, (http://www.nrsweb.com/shop/product.asp?pfid=2236&deptid=942) and now seems to use it almost exclusively. A thermal goes under it in winter. Seems to work very well, I intend to get one. You need to put a windproof over it when stopping on a windy beach, to slow the evaporative cooling. The top seems flexible enough to paddle all day in, whereas a wetsuit neoprene top makes you paddle against elastic stretch. I use a neo top for surfing sessions, when I know there'll be a fair bit of submarine activity.
