Thanks for the reminder.

Trailers are different than cartopping or storage.
Few trailers have shock absorbers and even fewer are sprung for the
very light weight they will carry in kayak transport service.

What does this mean?

You need much more support for your boat if it is on a trailer.

Do you ever get the idea that there is always something new to learn?
I learn something new every day, at least that is my goal. :-)

Here is a kayak trailer, designed/built by a kayak designer/builder:

That one does look nice but I doubt that it will ride as
well as a car, truck or SUV.

Also, I don't like the boats extending back past the tail lights.
Especially at night, this increases the risk of somebody rear ending the
boats.

It is a nice looking rig and would be good choice for people who
don't want to build their own.

My trailer has hauled my kevlar Necky Looksha 4 HV thousands of miles with
no apparent damage. In between trips, my kayak sits on the trailer (hull
down) on the same Thule 878 Set-to-Go Saddle kayak racks it travels on. I
have been looking for deflections in the hull on a regular basis over the
last two years but have found none. I give this trailer high marks for its
high-speed, soft-sprung, shock-damped performance. Check it out:
