There are no adhesives that work well on polyethylene.  Your best bet is to
poprivet a patch on it, using similar material.  With a Coleman canoe, rough
usage warrants investing in a poprivet tool and a supply of pop rivets.
Good, expendable boats for rough usage.  Did a fifty mile section of the
Green in Utah in one. Had a great time.  Enjoy the boat.
