5:40 am. Hmmm, I wonder why my alarm didn't go off. Oh, well time to get up. 6 am the boat is on the car and it's off to the lake. As I push off I notice that there are lots of little circular wave patterns. I don't see or feel any rain, so I stop a bit to see if it's fish. It's not fish, it's a very light rain. I paddle out of the cove into the main part of the lake, the sun is coming up over the trees and everything has that nice sunrise/sunset coloring. I happen to glance to the west and notice a rainbow. It's not often that I get to paddle with a rainbow so I decided to cross the lake to get a better view. When I get to the other side of the lake I discovered it was actually a double rainbow. Now this is how to start the day. It's just me and the birds out on the lake hanging out watching the rainbow. By 6:30 the rainbow had faded. 7 am, back to the car, then home to pickup the kids, take them at school, and then head for the office. Not a bad way to start a workday. kirk *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
