1 May 2004 Correspondence from Northern Ontario Dear Paddlewisers: May Day arrived with lots of presents for all the good folk of the Lakehead Canoe Club. Specifically, four forty foot dragon boats for us, and another to be shipped on further west. That brings us to six here in TBay, but unfortunately, we only have space in an old transport trailer for a couple of them. We also only have paddles and PFDs for a couple of them. We are working on the tried and true premise that "If you built it, they will come," so we'll have to see about the city letting us build a boathouse. In the mean time, one of dragons was taken for a spin on Saturday, so big boat paddling is once again on the water in TBay at the start of the season. Yay!
