My 5 year-old eTrex Legend died a couple of weeks ago, but Garmin fixed it ($99) and got it back to me in about a week. Fast service, and cheaper than a new model (although, I would like a Map 76c). One of the best features about the Garmins (maybe other brands also) is the free firmware upgrades...which often include new features. Deep in one of the setup menus is a feature that will let you change the size of the map text.
