[Paddlewise] Alaska Wildfires

  For anyone planning canoe or kayak trips to the interior of Alaska.
Currently there are 55 wildfires in Alaska due to lack of rain. The Steese
highway (Birch creek and the Koyukuk rivers) and the Taylor highway to Chicken
(forty mile river)have been closed off and on due to the fires.
  I would suggest have a plan B ready incase you cannot get access to the
river you orginally planned to run.
  Also there is a burn ban on for most of the state which includes camp fires.
We faked a fire using alumimum foil as "flames" at church camp this past week.
Problem is we couldn't find any alumimun marshmellows to roast.
