When I paddled Maine September of 2002, I wore a dry suit and my two partners wore farmer john wetsuits. One decided to try rolling his loaded kayak and put on a neoprene jacket and hood. Upon rolling, he stated the farmer john was not enough. After three or four rolls he was cold enough he didn't want to be in the water anymore. I suggest the hydroskin provides less protection than the neoprene farmer john, but I have not tested the theory myself. John MacKechnie wrote: I noticed that NRS carries something they call hydroskin as well as pure neoprene. What do you folks recommend for summer paddling on the Maine Coast. Hope this helps, Brian Blankinship *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
