Ask anyone who has gone to Antarctica by ship if rogue waves are real.

The most common problem is that the scientists keep talking about waves
that are stable and propagating. The rogue waves I have experienced had
been short lived. When working in Antarctica on R.V. Hero it was not
uncommon
see rogue waves of tremendous size. Fortunately most of them did not his
us
or us hit them. Only one time did we hit a rogue wave and it was BIG.
