What about installing a stainless steel tee nut into the bow and then gluing
a stainless steel machine screw into a predrilled hole in a large wooden
craft ball (after glassing it to prevent splitting)? Then you could
attach/detach the "clown nose" whenever you wanted to surf/tour. Total cost
about $5.00 if you have the epoxy and glass laying around.
