Thanks for the suggestions re waterproof notes, I found the simplest solution is the best. A piece of white plastic scavenged from work and a standard HB pencil work perfectly. A little elbow grease with a rag does the erasing. Total cost: Bugger all, maybe I could be a GP paddler after all :-) With apologies to Shawn, et al.
