The Inuit would have starved to death if they had had to think about this. Thats what's intriguing about the real world versus the world of theory. It slaps you when you are wrong and generally rewards you when you are right. But the world needs theorists too. Just not my cup of tea. On another point Rob G and Nick Shade provided historical links about paddles. Since the door of history has been opened I was curious to know what tools ancient paddlers used to craft wood into the final shape. I haven't been successful on Google. I did find a lot of interesting cultural things. I am beginning to see the appeal of QajaqUSA. Great.....another obsessive hobby to dive into.
