Here I quote from John Brand. "Derek C. Hutchinson was kind enough to write an encouraging letter(regarding one of John's books) , - 'I have an item I have treasured for many years. I shall wrap it and take it with me to the Crystal Palace'. The mystery object (30 degree twisted paddle believed dating from the 18th century) turned out to be the subject of these notes." Notes in brackets are mine. You can find the full text in John Brand's "The Little Kayak Book Part II" pages 47 through 49. The notes include drawings taken off the paddle including offsets etc. Sorry John's Little Kayak books are out of print and I don't have any plans to reprint them in the future. Hopefully I can find enough motivation to publish a similar book with improved analysis and mor precise focus.
