I've been off list for quite awhile. So, I don't know if this subject has been posted. But to advise of a real treat, there is a film entitled "This is The Sea" filmed and produced by Justine Curgenven. I watched the complete video "This is the Sea" this afternoon. WOW. What a great video. Justine captured the sprit and the excitement of sea kayaking so well, I could feel the blood pressure and excitement rising as your video played on. I am so hyped after watching that video... You must see this video. It's AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME! http://www.cackletv.com/ Great job Justine! I have met a lot of those folks shown in the video and have been kayking with, or taken lessons from many of them. I met Justine in Florida last year at the Sweetwater Kayaks Symposium. So, I've paddled a lot of these places including Holyhead, Pehrhyn Mawr, Wales, Deception Pass, Wa., San Juan islands, Florida... all that was an added treat. If you haven't seen the video. Get it. You won't be disappointed. (I have no financial relationship with this video, or its producers whatsoever) Robert Cline Houston, Texas *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). I found it unique, in that rather than delving into an instructional focus, it simply captures paddlers in locations all over the world doing their thing. Flatwater nature scenics with Nigel Foster, (of all people), to a hairy coastal exploration of Kamchatka including large surf, Russian soldiers, a plucky Russian guide and Brown Bears. The American south, or west coast, everywhere you want to paddle. There is something for everybody. But to be sure, most of the footage is of lumpier water with some very big water thrown in for good measure. The scene I enjoyed most (as a paddler) was watching Nigel Dennis shoot still photos with one hand as he moved across the race in Penrhyn Mawr. As a guy, the opening sequences were lots of fun...but that's for you to decide. The paddlers are a nice balance between men and women. No test-o-fest or estro-ver-dose. There isn't any preachy, my way or the highway, attitudes. There doesn't seem to be a lot of posturing, either. It's fun, a lot of fun, and holds up to multiple viewings. Rob, I have the video and really like it too. I saw a brief shot of a guy launching a Feathercraft throught the surf in the video. Is that you?
