Doug: Anyone traveling to foreign destinations with inadequate insurance already has a strike against them. Can't afford insurance? Then revise your travel plans. I spent a mere 80 or 90 bucks on a 30K USD medical evac and general trip insurance policy when I went to Central America. It's good mental insurance for when a snake rolls across your path.
