Typically life keeps me from the water as much as I would like. Being solidly attached to family and work I need an "excuse" to paddle. So, I participate in the Watertribe.com challenges. "Honey," it isn't my fault, I didn't plan it!! They held this 'race' twice in Michigan, but now it is just in Florida. These are 300mile 8 days races. March 12th I think. From St. Petersburg, Florida to Key Largo. There are about 50 eclectic participants (more for the shorter race). The tough part is conditioning in the Fall and Winter when it is hard to get on the water, it is hard....(he-he). So, the lovely Detroit River is where I do most of my conditioning.
