One approach might be to get your hands more usable in those temperatures rather than making your hands warmer. 10 years ago I recall reading in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that the Army had a program of exercises designed to get soldiers' hands used to functioning more effectively in cold temperatures. I don't recall anymore details than that unfortunately.
