Have not seen the video yet, but that "girl" has got to be Ginni Callahan.
You are correct: I bet she spends little time in the central part of the Bar
or near the tip of the North Jetty. The Shellbacks of Portland, OR, like the
tide race off the tip of Jetty A, and Waikiki Beach/Smugglers Cove for
practice/fun in serious overfalls and surf. Those areas can be completely
unpaddleable, also, but in the right conditions are demanding but fun. Here
is a link to some photos from Jonathon Walpole taken in the latter area,
under very mild conditions, unfortunately:

I could not find the link to a short video clip of Ginni doing a pirouette in
a Falcon 16 at Waikiki Beach.

"Columbia River Bar" encompasses an enormous area some 2 miles by 2 miles
(roughly), with conditions varying by location, time of tide, and wind,
swell, etc.

Yeah, too bad we couldn't see a rougher day with some carnage photos.. Maybe
Duane should send his crew up to shoot the Shellbacks in action. I image the
Cape must have wild days, though I still feel Cape Beale on a big day is
simply an outrageous spot, as deep water waves barrel right in - no river
bar slowing the swell here. Likewise, Race Rocks on a truly bad day can be
heard two miles away with a vastness few enthral with. So far, no
out-of-bounds signs at any of those spots, though a Fisheries vessel has in
the past attempted to dissuade further passage out of Port Renfrew with a
hurricane due very soon. But hey, this is Canada, and we were very polite
about it, though I remained dissuaded.
