Paddlewisers, I just completed my winter project, building a second Point Bennett sea kayak, my own design. The design performed so awesomely this last year that I didn't make any changes, except for cleaning up the fairing on a few of the lines. Just 1/32 of inch in a few places on the panels can make a noticeably cleaner line for the discerning eye, especially along the keel. I also painted this one red with black trim, and it looks so hot I'm going to have to sand down and paint my first one too. I never really was into the varnished wood look and it draws too many questions on the beach. The kayak is expedition strength (single or multiple layers of glass inside and out) and weighs just 46 pounds fully outfitted! Photos of the red hot kayak (both in looks and performance) can be seen at: http://www.rollordrown.com/kayak/index.html Duane Southern California *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
