Wacky in Ottawa this year too.  Lots of sharp freeze-thaw cycles. 
 Screwed up the X-C skiing.

Biggest swing I remember in a day:  a few years ago, in January, we went 
from +12 to -21 Celcius in about 17 hours!  Half the world doesn't see 
that much swing in a year.
