Let me give a *strong* recommendation that folks run, not walk, over to www.mozilla.org, and download "Thunderbird". It is the best mail client (with a GUI) available. It runs on everything. It's free. It's open-source -- and therefore peer-reviewed, and therefore far more likely than closed-source to have seriously addressed issues of utmost importance -- like security. And it keeps getting better, quickly. It's not perfect: nothing is. But it will do exactly what Kirk suggested, that is, filter mail as it's received into separate folders. (I happen to use procmail to do that, but the principle is the same; and given that I'm maintaining 638 folders at the moment, I couldn't live without that functionality. ;-) ) While you're there, grab the Firefox web browser as well: also runs on everything, also free, also open-source, etc. It's so much better than everything else at this point that comparisons are moot. And as soon as you get used to them -- which should be about five minutes after you start using them -- dump Outlook and IE, because using those programs are just about the two most dangerous things you can possibly do online. (I'll skip the explanation of why because this is wandering off-topic as it is, but there are now companies which will fire you on spot if you're caught using them. As a professional Internet security architect, I think that's a very sensible policy; yeah, they're _that_ bad.) ---Rsk *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
