My surfing friends would say its a matter of quality as well as quantity. They enjoy paddling but for getting their jolt of excitement they much prefer boards. Anyway, the issue here seems to involve the marketing of paddling rather than whose sport provides the most jollies. I just searched Clusty for Baseball and got 8,294,252 results, Fishing returned 8,024,306 results, Surfing 2,838,529 results, Sea Kayaking 797,354 results, Canoeing 567,910 results and sex 26,125,530 results. Not sure how that measures popularity but food for thought. Is sex only 9.2 times more popular than surfing? If so I will go out and buy a board today. :-) Cheers John Winters *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). Well, perhaps this opens up the field for some ... ahhh ... multitasking endeavors that combine favorite sports. I can see the next feature article in Sea Kayaker: "Quasimodo sea kayak surfer meets porn star fishing while on leave from baseball career." -- Dave Kruger Astoria, OR *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
