Thanks to all of you who replied. Is it just me or does everybody get mail from paddlewise 24 hrs. after they sent it? The reason I didn't name the items for sale on the list is I didn't want to offend anybody. I had already listed my kayak on paddlewise.net I think the local newspaper works if they are running a special such as run till it sells. If not, the cost prohibits it for any length of time. And since I haven't picked up a newspaper for months, I tend to use the internet. With that said... Where do you guys look online ? Consignment shops can work great if you find the right one. Or your boat may end up with more wear and tear only to reduce the value even more, after you have worked very hard not to put a scratch on it. I watched a sales person at a kayak shop who happen to be selling a used Kevlar kayak I was looking at drop another boat on top of this kayak and crack it. He then called the owner to ask if he would take any less for the boat because it had been there for 6 months and still had not sold. The owner said no he would come and get it before selling it for less. I then hear the salesman tell the owner how he just damaged his kayak...The point to all of this is I don't trust somebody else to take care of my kayak the same way I have and if they damage it while on consignment I'm pretty much out of luck without taking them to court, which would cost more money than it's worth. Don't worry about that. Selling personal property has always been permitted. As long you're not a commercial enterprise attempting to use the list to make a profit announcing boats or gear for sale is okay. >I had already listed my kayak on paddlewise.net > >I think the local newspaper works if they are running a special such as >run till it sells. On the other hand, some of us don't care if a kayak is real pretty as long as it still performs well and the price is reasonable.
