My heart finally settled down enough over the last two weeks that I'd actually like to get out kayaking in the next few weeks for some winter paddling but, my old Nordkapp ain't so seaworthy right now. Maybe I will try a block of foam. Tim Shuff had a nice piece in Feb 19th's local newspaper about winter kayaking in the Broken Group - one could sense the obvious tension in his article, highlighting the rewards of off-season paddling vs not wanting to promote it too much in order to avoid inexperienced paddlers from seeking such adventure. 'Course, right now, the weather in simply stunning in BC (in terms of clear, dry conditions). Not so good for the river paddlers or the salmon stock.
