[Paddlewise] Kayak Incident

There was report of a kayak incident off the waters of Campbell River (east 
central coast of Vancouver Island) Monday. Apparently a paddler somehow was 
hurt in shallow water. I spoke with the Coast Guard today. Details are 
sketchy. The paddler "hand all the right gear" and was "experienced" but 
somehow hit his head and was in the water unconscious for ten minutes. If 
anyone has further details, please let me know. I'm not sure on the status 
of the paddler, but he was taken to hospital. No mention of a helmet was 
made.
