I have a 7x32 Denali waterproof and have been very happy with them. Not one of the compacts, but not huge. About $90 but I don't recall if that was a sale or a reduced ongoing price. Excellent customer service. For on the water, I've heard that a monocular works well but don't haven't done it myself.
