In the case of this bill in Maine THE KAYAK REGISTRATION FEES ARE GOING IN
TO THE GENERAL FUND. Not the Dept of Natural Resources or any other nature,
water or even boating related item. Not one penny will be fed back to the
improvement of parks, nature or waterways. In other words the governor is
taking my hard earned money to fund privately run state funded methadone
clinics so they can hand out two weeks supplies of methadone to junkies form
out of state who come up here upon leaning of the liberal standards of our
welfare system and declare residency here. These junkies either take it all
in one gulp and OD on the stuff (they are offing themselves at the rate of
about a couple a month) or sell it to other junkies.

I am not opposed to paying fees. I already do in the form of season or daily
passes to use managed waterways even though more often then not the power
boaters hog the boat ramps while I have to climb over the rocks w/ my gear.
And mind you just where is the guy from out of state supposed to buy the
sticker when he comes up here on Saturday am and the local town halls are
only open on week days???

not a happy camper:
