It has 3 x optical zoom (and it has digital, too, which I never use).

Sadly no, but it just looks like a black pouch, like those
some carry their diamonds in (at least some do that
in movies).

Very, very sturdy - some guy forgot his (KD-500Z, as it
was called then) on the roof of his car, and it fell off at 
high speed. Just minor scratches!
