[Paddlewise] Crossing the border

I have spent lots of hours getting clarification on border crossing with
very little success. Depends on the person I communicate with. I have an
additional complication of holding dual citizenship. The last communication
from the US was that I need both passports for easy crossing (relative term
as I found out the last time I went to the US) - Canadian and US. The US
passport to get into the US and the Canadian Passport to get into Canada.

I was told the rules were in a state of flux and that you had to keep
checking to see what new laws the US was throwing up and how Canada was
responding.

Actually Canada need not do anything since you can't get back into the US
without your US passport so who care sif you have it coming in. This might
mean hordes of people trapped on the Peace Bridge who can't go back to Canad
opr forward into the US but that's life in th land of the fearful. :-)

Cheers

John Winters
