Cutting the weather service: A couple years ago, our leaders gave the NOAA chart franchise to MAPTECH. Up to then, our taxes paid for NOAA chart production and we could call them up on line through MAPFINDER, a service of NOAA. Now, in order to get charts to download it costs $250. to obtain access to a US chart region. Getting rid over NWS is like that all over again. When are people going to understand where they are taking us? IT MAKES ME COMPLETELY NUTS! Bring on those SS private accounts, baby!
