Thanks for posting this link and for having your website up. The
opening page of your site is really breathtaking.

I was very interested to read your account about the farmer who had
put two fences across the South Platte River to keep people off that
water during waterfowl nesting season. I wonder if he takes those
fences down in June. It's ironic that the same organization he used
(Ducks Unlimited) to justify his actions want to buy your photos of
that stretch for their magazine.

White water kayakers - especially creekboaters - face this sort of
activism a lot. One local creek, featured in at least one paddling
guide sold at REI, is routinely fenced by landowners/farmers. This
(and the ticks) has pretty much kept me off it.

As far as I know, the law varies from state-to-state about who can
fence which waterways and I think that organizations that fight for
the rights of paddlers should be encouraged and supported.

Does anyone have a list of such organizations? Is WWTA active in this area?
