Has anybody used this program? I used to have a copy of Topo 2.0, which was seriously buggy, but you could use it to draw a course through the marsh, then generate directions in the form of XXX miles at YYY degrees to this point, then ZZZ miles at AAA degrees to another point, etc. I tried to do this with version 5.0 last night (it's still sriously buggy) and it wanted to default to roads. The best i could do was use the Trails option, but the "directions" it produced basically said "The finish point is 4.5 miles from the start point on a bearing of 120 degrees." While that's technically true, there are several islands in the way and I'm not travelling the most direct route anyway. Apparently, it won't give directions in terms of coordinates, only official roads and trails in its database. Anybody know how to make this useful? And in case you're wondering, there's nothing about this is the docs, and no tech support number I could find. Hi Steve, I've not used this particular product, but do use DeLorme XMap with topo and satellite datasets. I can't comment on your particular issue, therefore, but I can suggest that you try the online forum for TOPO USA: http://forum.delorme.com/index.php?c=12 or even search the support site: http://www.delorme.com/support There is a tech support number (207) 846-8900 . I've only spoken to folks there a couple of times but in each case they seemed particularly lucid. Good luck! Steve, You can set the route calculation to Direct to a get a straight line route. Inserts Stops if you want doglegs. The bearing and distance for each leg are in the Route Directions. It is awkward- I much prefer the National Geographic Topo interface.
