My 2cents Doug Alderson's account was very interesting. All the time I wa reading it I kept getting phantom pains in my shoulder. He's getting to be almost as good a writer as Doug L. Too bad about the story between the lines going unreported. Maybe I'll send a letter to the editor. Yup, this is my second favorite haunt. My other fav is East Sooke Park. Even more dangerous. I have paddled this area alone on more then one occasion, but not anymore. In those bad old days of innocence and ignorance my Spider Sense kept the playing to a minimum. Actually I was probably safer in this area by myself then I was with the people I use to paddle with. They were the ones that always seemed to paddle straight into the danger zone. Now I paddle with more risk aware paddlers. Nevertheless I don't know how I would get myself back into a kayak alone if I had a dislocated shoulder. Even if I could roll with one hand I suspect it would be almost impossible to do so with a gimp arm and heavy seas. Has anyone ever done it and can the claim be verified?
