If you're going out more for exercise, or you're getting tired, it is a great morale booster. There appears to be a number of waterproof cases and things for an iPod and other popular MP3 players if you already own one. You also need waterproof headphones, or just use a pair of cheap headphones under a hat. It might be fun to mount some waterproof speakers under the deck, and hook up a car stereo to a bilge pump battery. You could then blast "Ride of the Valkyries" as you were making the rounds, but that'd probably be against Leave No Trace ethics.
