We drove around that mess enroute to the Victoria-Port Angeles ferry today, and it was quite impressive, with a ship from Mexico and one from Russia being the contenders for largest. Those ships need to be seen to be appreciated! The harbor was alive with paddlers, and patrolers, looked like some Vic RCMP's (?) and maybe CCG Zodiacs. The Straits had some pretty rough conditions, which made the ferry alter course, after a large crash in the galley ... and none of the sail boats out had much sail on. Some of the passengers lost lunch. A big day. -- Dave Kruger Astoria, OR *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
