I have a friend who has a plastic kayak with a large dent in the deck just behind the forward hatch. Does any one have any advice or suggestions on how to repair it? >I have a friend who has a plastic kayak with a large dent in the deck just behind the forward hatch. Does any one have any advice or suggestions on how to repair it? I bought a boat like that once. I got it real cheap because I think the owner thought they had ruined it. I cut a section of 2 x 4 to the proper length so that I could force it into the boat as a brace and push the dented section back out again. After a couple of weeks of sitting in the sun I was able to remove the brace and the boat was as good as new. I had a WS Piccolo which had a large dent in the hull. I also used a wood brace to push out the dent but had a bunch of towels saturated with boiling water on the outside that did the trick in a couple of hours.
