Hi there, I want to make some videos explaining some kayaking drills. I have a Sony handycam super 8. The problem with handycams is that the microphone is in the camera, and the voice sounds very far or dampened by wind and waves. I have seen videos of people talking at the distance with very clear voice and assume that they have a microphone and transmitter, and the camera has a wireless receiver. Anybody knows where I can get such an accessory?. Is it available for any handycam or it requires a professional recording machine? Probably your best bet would be to dub-over your own voice later in a quiet environment. *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). As long as your camera has an input for an external mike, you have a lot of options. Wireless gear can get expensive in a hurry. You might want to try a wired shotgun mike. Some models can be mounted on the camera (depends on the camera). Here's the perfect place to pose your question: http://www.dvinfo.net/ You might just want to search their message board to read about microphone recommendations (both wired & wireless). You'll get a lot of pricey recommendations there, but here are enough non- professionals on that board to offer more reasonable options. It's a great resource for anyone shooting video.
