Not directly related, but anyone know the life expectancy of plastic boats? I have an 11 year-old Prijon Seayak. It was red, but has faded greatly over the years. It's been taking a lot of abuse in the shallow rivers of Central PA, but seems to be holding up fine for now. I spray UV protector on it several times a year, but it lives on my roof rack, exposed to the sun nearly year-round. never really thought of the plastic getting brittle. I've used it in sub-freezing temps to 100 degrees. So far, so good! > Most likely, though, if it's cracking like that > the plastic is old and has gotten brittle. Does the color look faded? *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
