I once repaired an radiator overflow container on a GMC van  using milk jug 
strips and a soldering iron. No leaks and it held up for about 12  years and 
was still good when we got rid of the van.
 
Since molded kayaks are of the same material as milk jugs, I  would try a 
repair. It was really not that hard. Practice on something  until you get your 
technique down. Maybe buy some plastic rods and use them like  you are brazing.
