I hope I don't take anything away from John's blessed event but I'd like to announce that I became a Grandpa two weeks ago. Our daughter, Kristina, called me on the phone and when I answered said, "Hello Grandpa". It took me a while to figure it out since she hadn't been pregnant. She told me it was an easy delivery: they brought him in a van. They had just adopted a 4-day old baby boy and named him Ethan. A few medical problems (possible club foot) but nothing that isn't fixable. Sue and I drove to Colfax to see him the first chance we got. I told them that they were lucky he came after most kayaking is over for the season. LOL So congratulations to John on their addition. I can attest to the Rev's remarks about kayaking bringing a family close together. Our kids still come back to paddle with us (although our son still prefers white water). I love the fact that none of them can keep up with me unless I let them. <grin> Craig Jungers Royal City, WA PS: No cigars... but tootsie-roll pops make a wonderful substitute *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
