Yea, but take it from me, I used to sell these things, you may get it to
work again, but it has cancer now.  It will die, it may operate for a few
days or weeks or even months, but it will die on you inexpertly.  And
Murphy's Law states that it will do it when it is needed the most.  Go out
and get a new one, save yourself the grief.

who take cell phones with them--should know.
