[Paddlewise] How do you Skin a Cold Kayak?

Hey all you skin-on-frame boat builders out there!

I'm building my first skin-on-frame kayak in my unheated garage using Chris
Cunningham's book as a guide. It's going great, I've got the frame done and
now I'm thinking of skinning it. But all the options for skin look like they
require a heated environment for applying the sealant. Does anybody know of a
good way to skin a boat in a cold environment that doesn't require marine
mammals making the ultimate sacrifice? I'd appreciate any pointers.

Also, while I'm attracted to nylon as a skin material, I have heard that the
sealant permanently attaches the nylon to the frame making re-skinning later
impossible. Is this true? Has anybody come up with a good synthetic covering
that can be removed from the frame at the end of its life?

Thanks for your help!
