When you need a full floatation, (separated from your boat, have to swim
etc), you'll inflate this hybrid PFD to its full capacity anyway. And when
you are paddling peacefully in hot weather or practising rescues in
controlled conditions, you don't need this partial foam, so why not just
wearing an inflatable, like Doug, or one of those meshbacks by Lotus - they
are bulky in front, but provide ventilation at the back, which is where you
are sweating the most. I'm not trying to critisize, - just wondering. Lotus
meshbacks have been recalled, though - and no signs of coming back yet.
