Hello Everyone,

I have been very busy this last year and didn't have the time to
re-subscribe.

When I was down in Oregon several months ago I purchased a Magellan GPS,
without sales tax I might add.

Gotta like shopping in Oregon.

Anyway, when I tried to synchronize the GPS with my laptop I couldn't get
the two to really communicate.

Has anyone out there have any experience with Magellan GPS units?

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm using a Sportrak Color, and recieves the usual servicepacks for my
XP pc's. I use clients certified for use with Windows XP and with serial
connection for up and download.

Then suddenly I couldn't connect to BlueNav or Streets map. The program
started but hang during initialization. Magellan support was not able to
give any explanation apart from advising a reinstallation, and I
reinstalled the software several times. On some of my pc's I could make
the connection work, and on some not. Now I'm using a specific pc for
the up and downloads.

Magellan seems uninterested in updating problematic old software even
though they are still selling it on some markets.
