The NZ authorities extended the search another 12 hours but it is now finished and with no sign of Andrew. The conditions were windier than anticipated with whitecaps spoiling vision. Several private planes also joined in the search. http://tinyurl.com/2jldqn The NSWSKC to which Andrew belonged has a press release http://www.nswseakayaker.asn.au/ I'll hand over to those of you who have access to Dave Winkworth as he may have more detail. Thanks for the concerns and information, it helps us in Oz to know the kayaking community understood what Andrew was trying to do and why.
