I have had very good experiences with the Kajak hatches (glued to the fiberglass with 3M Sealant 5200). (I have used all the round rubber sizes with them all being air-tight.) I have not used their larger Oval ones although the biggest round one at about 9" seems like a beautiful gapping hole if you grew up with the old screw down hatches of my old Baidarka at about 7" and suits me fine as a camping kayaker.
