It is a long 70 miles with only the Marquesas Islands about half way. We put our kayaks on the roof of the fast ferry and spent 4 days at Ft Jefferson paddling around. Besides whats thrown at you by mother nature, there were 2 or 3 boat loads of Cubans landing every night and we were told by the rangers to be very careful.
